Not every region picked up Carlo & Malik and that’s a tragedy as the crime drama is a fantastic series. Netflix did want to carry the mini-series in Europe but talks fell through. The series is only distributed by Netflix outside of Europe. The major problem with this listing is that it’s not quite a full Netflix Original. The movie has gotten good reviews so far and features an assortment of big Italian stars. It’s about a teen who grows up during the height of one of Milan’s biggest criminals during the 1980s. So a solid 8.Written and directed by Renato De Maria, this is a new Italian movie that takes on the gangster/maifa genre. Ohterways I must give Gomorrah a 9 and this show a 7, but that is not enough credit I think. So I have given Gomorrah a 10 so I can give this show an 8. So overall it is a bit over the top with the drama and it got it's flaws but is it bad? No, it is a good effort. But I must say some actors/actresses really play their part well and believable. For me there is also not enough character development. Also with Samurai and the people above him. Sometimes it feels more like a soap and the gangs are not real. There are also some weird combinations and some relations are feeling forced. There are things happening that make you think like: huh? That does not make much sense. The story is sometimes cheesy and it is not hard to figure out what will happen. It is like the criminal organisation and how it works has less attention and it is more about the politics and that everybody is dirty. It has many things that are looking the same, but it still has it's own vibe and there is big difference. Subarra looks like a series that children watch compared to Gomorrah.
